Shilajit
mineral pitch · fulvic acids · PrimaVie®
Purified PrimaVie shilajit has Grade C evidence for male fertility markers and a testosterone signal in specific trials, typically 200 mg twice daily (400 mg/day) or similar. A 200 mg once-daily serving is in the neighbourhood of a single study dose, not the full daily protocol. Unstandardised resins are a different product.
- Study-dose band
- Often 200–250 mg twice daily of purified extract
- Typical bottle
- 100–500 mg; resins rarely state fulvic acid content
Evidence by outcome
| Outcome | Grade | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Male fertility markers | C | Pandit 2016 used 200 mg PrimaVie twice daily for 90 days in infertile men. That is 400 mg/day. |
| Testosterone in healthy men | C | A 2016 trial reported increases with purified shilajit. Sample sizes are modest; this is not indicated HRT. |
Safety
- Raw, unpurified shilajit can carry heavy metals. Standardised, purified extracts exist for a reason.
- Not a treatment for hypogonadism. Get labs if that is the actual question.
Unknowns
- Fulvic acid percentage on a label is not a clinical outcome.
Questions
Is 200 mg of PrimaVie a study dose?
It matches one capsule used in Pandit 2016 — but that protocol was 200 mg twice daily. Once daily is half the trial’s daily exposure.
