Niacin, NR, and NMN are not interchangeable
All three can feed NAD biology. They do not share a clinical literature, a milligram chart, or a side-effect profile.
The cheap precursor is still a precursor
Niacinamide is vitamin B3. It is on the salvage path to NAD. A 250 mg dose is not homeopathy. Calling that bottle a ‘NAD+ formula’ is legal-ish marketing; calling it nicotinamide riboside is false.
NR (nicotinamide riboside) has human PK trials in the 300–1,000 mg range. NMN is still arguing its way through regulators in some markets. If the facts panel lists fenugreek, grape, and niacinamide — you bought B3 plus botanicals.
How we score NAD blends
We give credit for disclosed B3 at a real dose. We do not give credit for 1 mg of resveratrol hiding inside a 2% grape extract. Coverage bars are arithmetic, not vibes.
Longevity as an outcome stays Grade D until the formula — not a cousin molecule — has human endpoints. Energy-drink adjectives do not move that grade.
